Talent International is delighted to announce the appointment of New Zealand based Candace Kinser as a Non Executive Director, effective 1st of October.
Candace is a high profile personality in New Zealand’s technology sector and has just completed a three year term as CEO of the New Zealand Technology Industry Association.
NZTech is a leading industry association for the sector with over 100 member organisations ranging from government agencies to universities and major corporates to start-ups.
The Association’s mission is to promote the growth of the technology industry in New Zealand by taking a leadership role on behalf of members, through direct communication with government leaders, the media, other sector groups and the public, both locally and abroad.
“With the local tech industry now third only to dairy and tourism as the largest contributor to the New Zealand economy, there has never been a more exciting time to be advocating for greater investment, support and innovation in the Kiwi tech sector.” Candace explained
Talent’s Executive General Manager for Australia and New Zealand Aaron Williams said he was very excited to be working with Candace and this was a very strategic appointment as Talent looks to scale up its market presence and thought leadership activities in the NZ tech sector.
Previously, Candace was the CEO of Biomatters, an award winning international genetics software company launched out of New Zealand and named as NZ Hi Tech Awards’ ‘Microsoft Emerging Technology Company of the Year in 2012’.
She has been named as a ‘Top 10 female CEO for New Zealand’ and is currently a Director for McCashin’s Brewery and NZX listed ERoad as well as a Trustee for the Well Foundation for North Shore and Waitakere Hospitals.
Candace serves on the advisory boards for Massey School of Business, the Cyber Security Masters Programme at Waikato University and is a member of the Government Geospatial Executive Group founded the national Women Tech Execs group representing senior female executives in the technology industry.
Candace has undergraduate degrees in Anthropology and Political Science from the University of Hawaii, a Post Graduate and Masters degree in Business Management from Massey University, advanced business studies in Bio-Pharma from Rutgers University and in Asian Business Governance from Melbourne University.
Talent’s Managing Director Richard Earl added that “Candace would be an excellent addition to the board and her many connections in her hometown of Austin Texas and Silicon Valley would add tremendous value in the years ahead as Talent looks to enter the US market in late 2015”.
